Watching Edie by Camilla Way

Wow! This was a fantastic read for me. If you love your psychological thrillers like I do, you have to read this book.

Heather and Edie meet as teenagers when Edie moves to the area and starts attending the same school as Heather. They make an unlikely pair. Edie is absolutely beautiful, while Heather is overweight and plain. Yet they begin an intense friendship which at times seems a little one sided. Then something dreadful happens. Something so awful it splits them apart. Fifteen years later Heather turns up on Edie's doorstep just when she is at her most vulnerable.

The emotion in this book is so dark and so strong, so believable that I was moved to tears or at least one tear while reading. There are two voices in this book Edie's and Heather's as they alternate their version of the past and the present. There are so many twists and turns that I had to keep reading to discover what exactly happened to destroy such a deep friendship.

I finished this book at 2.30 a.m. in the morning, I just couldn't put it down.

I received a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher HarperCollins and NetGalley in return for an honest review.
